Design Sketches from the archives....

I thought today I'd post a few designs from my rather large archive.....back in the days when I had a lot more time on my hands, I used to painstakingly create a watercolour sketch for each design, with a differently posed figure for each. I just don't have the luxury of that these days, so my sketches are a lot more uniform in pose.....and no-one gets a face anymore!

These next few designs are from a collection I sketched out a couple of years ago, inspired by a browse  through some of my favourite fashion plates of the 1920s.....still hoping to get round to actually making them up some time soon!

And these final three are the sort of thing new clients can expect to receive after we've had an initial consultation to discuss ideas.....although I generally include a back view too ( but still no faces ;))

  1. What a lovely post Jo. I adore the sketch of my coat for the wedding and would like to have it framed eventually as I love your style of illustration.
