'Jeanne'; a 1920s inspired silk tulle 'robe de style' wedding dress....

Champagne silk tulle and lace drop-waisted 'robe de style' by Joanne Fleming Design
It wasn't all about the straight up and down beaded flapper dress in the 1920s you know....there was an alternative in the gorgeously femimine 'robe de style' championed by French designer Jeanne Lanvin.
Although these designs still had minimal structuring in the bodice, they did have some discreet shaping, and the skirts were gathered and flounced from the upper hip, often with extra fullness or internal padding at the side hip for a slightly panniered look......soooo pretty, and definitely a little more forgiving than the equally delicious 'chemise' styles, which, let's be frank, are really at their best on the less bosomy amongst us....
