The Devil's Prophecy

Well what can I say? This amazing picture was created by the hugely talented photographer Luke Woodford, as part of his 'Abandoned Fashion' series of fine art fashion images.
I was so excited to see what magic Luke would create with the help of a few of my pieces....and he did not disappoint!
Together with hair and make-up artist Rosie Lee, and model Sara Grabek, Luke used one of the deserted abandoned buildings he is so good at finding as the backdrop to these painterly creations.
I loved the Pre-Raphaelite artists from a very young age, and although I had drifted away from them over the years, my fascination and love for them was rekindled by the 'Cult of Beauty' exhibition at the V&A last year.
Luke did not consciously draw on the Pre-Raphaelites when he created these images, but there is something wonderfully Burne-Jones-ian about the way the figures in their drapery are set within a suggested ruined classical landscape with nature encroaching.

A word about the JFD pieces used for this shoot....the coat is my 'Goodbye to Berlin' silk velvet and ostrich feather opera coat, and it is worn with a bespoke design of silk tulle and exquisitely soft French lace.
The falling figure's drapery is a design of silk crinkle chiffon with extensive silvery handbeading, worn with an ostrich feather cape.....

Do go and check out the rest of Luke's 'Abandoned Fashion' series on Facebook.....a collection of gorgeous images using the work of some wonderful designers, which so far includes Renaissance Design, Suzie Turner Couture, Jess Eaton's Roadkill Couture, and Francesca Marotta.....and please do 'like' and 'share' his images and page....
