| Ivory silk tulle and lace full-skirted wedding gown |
The starting point for this design was the huge balloon sleeves in layered silk tulle....inspired by an image I came across somewhere or other, by the American 19thC artist William Merritt Chase......
I loved the diaphanous feel of the sleeves in the painting, and also the sloping line of the sitter's neck leading into the shoulder, emphasised in my design by the deep V back framed in softly draped tulle.....
